Crazy Quilt Car Trash Container

I made this crazy quilted car trash container today. I used a piece from a plastic table cloth as my foundation and it also provided waterproofing for the container. Nice!

Crazy Quilt Sewing Machine Cover

I watched It's Sew Easy yesterday and was insppired to try crazy quilting. I have been in need of an attractive cover for my sewing machine. This turned out well. I accented the crazy quilting with a bunch of machine stitch embellishments. I can now see what these stitches look like everytime I uncover my machine. I am inspired!

I Love Lucy Towel

I Love Lucy! I also love this machine embroidered towel that I accented with rick-rack. So fun and so retro!

Applique Pumpkin Kitchen Towel

Here is a kitchen towel that i embellished with applique pumpkins. It will make a great host/hostess gift.

Striped pleated cosmetic bag

I used the stripes in the brown and tan fabric to create the folds in this cosmetic bag. I like the way it turned out.

Rice Owl Pillowcase

My friends daughter became a Rice Owl, so I made her a pillowcase. I love this owl embroidery. I need to know more Owls!

Many Mini Bags

I made these zippered cases for some friends. I love to make a bunch of the same thing for gifts. Production goes VERY fast! And they are quite cute!

New Den

My husband is a great decorator. He re-did our den while my daughter and I were on vacation. I made the colorful print pillows on the sofa, and the gray and white ones on the chairs. We plan to change the look of the room with pillows - I already made some formal ones in grays and golds - pictures coming soon. Great lessons learned - 1. Buy zippers in bulk via the web - Cheap! 2. Buy LONG zippers - they can be cut to size, and they are not that much more expensive when bought in bulk. 3. When sewing pillows, sew the zipper to the fabric FIRST! Then the pillow looks amazing and professionally made when finished. 4. Pillows can change a room. Make a bunch!

Burlap Bird Pillow

I had some burlap and some toille fabric left over from a decorating project so I made this happy bird pillow. Not too soft to lay on, but it looks good!

Sew4Home purse

I made this purse from the Sew4Home website. It was harder than i expected, but I think it turned out great. I used a double needle for the first time, and just love the effect!

Homecoming Mums

I made these homecoming mums for the girls in Dance Company. I hope they looked better in real life than they do in this picture. :) I machine embroidered the dancers.

Quick notebook covers

I made these notebook covers for a back to school goodie for a group of girls.

Sewing with my Niece

Here is a picture of my niece sewing. We had a great day of projects. She sewed and crocheted. What fun!
I made this pillowcase for my daughters friend Paige. I love, love, love, the easy way to create pillowcases. I thought adding the name was a nice touch, and it lets you know who left the pillow at the house after the slumber parties!

Golf/Bowling Bag

I created this two sided bag for my friend Sandy who was retiring. She loves golf and bowling, so I thought it was appropriate.

Summer Tote

I created this tote for a friend's daughter. I wanted to make it somewhat closable so I created one long handle and a short loop to keep it closed. I added her name on it. Fun for summer.

Dance Company Quilt

We got a new dance teacher for Dance Company at my daughters school. Since it was her first year teaching I created this quilt with all of the names of the dancers in the Company. It hangs in her office.
Here is a metal mesh dress I made. It has nothing to do with sewing, but it does use weaving. Of course, it cannot be worn - it is sculpture.
Here is a costume I made when my daughter was the Jester in a play. I used satiny fabric, fusible to make the shapes and embellished with trim. I think it turned out pretty well.
