Holiday Tree Skirt

This year we decided to decorate the Christmas tree with blues and greens.  I knew I needed to make a tree skirt to match the theme.  I found this lovely green silk shantug fabric, and added the snowflakes with my embroidery machine.  I found the beaded trim and added it almost as an afterthought.  But then again, is there ever too much embelishment when decorating for Christmas?

Initial Purse

I made this black and white checkered bag for my niece, Evin. I love the colors in the embroidery on the black and white background. It's a monogram, it's floral, it's subtle yet it's loud! How fun!

Madison's school had an American Showcase where students dressed up and made presentations as key figures in US history - including pop culture. Madison was Carol Burnett. Here is her last minute costume. She made the under-dress a few years ago as a Halloween costume. We added the purchased curtains a la Gone with the Wind. You should visit the Carol Burnett skit on Utube. It is a hoot!

This is a key fob/luggage ID. I like these because I can always find my keys in the dark depths of my purse.
Who can't use another ditty bag for lipstick or other purse goodies?

More for my sister-in-law.

Monogrammed Christmas Gifts

Satiny evening bag with monogram

Monogrammed Pashmina.

I created a few goodies for my sister-in-law for Christmas.

Fall Pumpkins and Table Runner

Above machine Embroidery

Above Applique

I created these stuffed pumpkins and fall table runner last fall. The runner is reversable with a Christmas motif in the back.

Sock Monkey Burp Cloth

The baby's room will be decorated in monkeys. I love this monkey burp cloth. I later added the baby's name but forgot to take a picture of it.

Noah's Ark Quilt

My daughter's Spanish teacher is having a baby so I made this Noah's Ark quilt for him. The animals are machine embroidery and I used bright batik colored fabrics.

Starbust Apron

I made a last minute entry into the Burdastyle contest. In looking at other entries, I felt that maybe something less tradional would be helpful. I much prefered the red and black one but burdastyle chose the Starbust Apron to be a top 50 semifinalist. It lost. Oh well.

Chicken and Cherries Apron

Long time no post... I entered a contest on Burdastyle. it required using a provided pattern and being creative from there. I created one - called Chicken and Cherries that I believe should have won.
